MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and rain showers due to the easterlies and southwest monsoon or “habagat” are forecast nationwide on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
(The southwest monsoon continues to persist and affect the western portion of Southern Luzon. We are expecting the habagat to bring cloudy skies and high chances of rain showers, especially in Palawan.)
(Today and in the next few days, it is possible that easterlies will prevail in Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands. These areas will have cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunder.)
The country is also expected to have thunderstorms from afternoon until evening.
Pagasa likewise reported that no weather disturbance is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days.
No gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
