Fewer dengue cases reported in Central Mindanao
COTABATO CITY—The Department of Health (DOH) in Central Mindanao on Wednesday reported a decrease in the number of dengue cases during the first three months of the year compared to the same period last year.
In a statement, the DOH said it had listed 452 cases of dengue in the provinces of North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and South Cotabato from January to March this year. Last year, DOH listed 752 cases in the same areas.
DOH attributed the decline in the number of dengue cases to the continuing campaign to remove mosquito-breeding areas. Edwin Fernandez, Inquirer Mindanao
