Man found guilty in Skyway robberies sentenced to 14 years in jail
MANILA, Philippines — A cohort of a robbery group that hounded motorists on the Skyway Toll Plaza has been convicted and sentenced to up to 14 years in prison.
The verdict of Anjo Sardoma, 30, was announced on Thursday, according to National Capital Region Police Office Regional Director Police Major General Jose Nartatez.
Presiding Judge Bibiano Colasito of Regional Trial Court Branch 50 in Manila found Sardoma guilty of violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law of 2012.
He was sentenced to a penalty ranging from eight years and one day of prison, mayor to 14 years, eight months, and one day of reclusion temporal.
Sardoma and his cousin Joland Cabotaje were arrested last Dec. 5, 2023, for stealing P134 million worth of money and other valuables.
