MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Thursday that P1.5 billion has been allotted to build new schools in the Caraga region.
Marcos has been traveling nationwide to distribute various aid to qualified farmers, fisherfolk and local families.

“Maasahan din ninyo ang patuloy na pagsulong namin ng edukasyon at kalusugan dito sa Caraga,” said Marcos in his speech in the distribution event in Surigao del Sur.
(You can expect that we will continue to advance education and health here in Caraga.)
“Nakapaglaan na tayo ng higit sa P1.5 bilyong para sa pagtayo ng mga bagong silid-aralan at halos kalahating bilyon piso para sa pagpaayos sa lumang silid-aralan,” he added.
(We have allotted more than P1.5 billion to build new school classrooms and half a billion to restore old classrooms.)
Marcos said that in addition to this assistance, 170 scholars from Caraga will also receive aid from the programs of the Commission on Higher Education.
For its part, the Department of Agriculture provided farmers with equipment and other support services amounting to P6 million.
Marcos also gave P12.4 million to the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur and P50 million to Agusan del Sur.
The beneficiaries also received various aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Department of Trade and Industry.
