Pagasa: Cloudy Wednesday with scattered rains

Pagasa: Cloudy, rainy Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and scattered rains are expected nationwide on Wednesday due to southwest monsoon or “habagat” and localized thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Ito pong Palawan, kasama ang buong Mindanao, ay aasahan po ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio in an early morning bulletin.

(In Palawan, as well as the entire Mindanao, cloudy skies with scattered rains are expected.)

Aurelio also said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of rains are also expected in the rest of the country.

“Ngayong araw, ang malaking bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila, ay magiging bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan na may kasamang isolated na pag-ulan dahil sa thunderstorms,” Aurelio said.

(Today, most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to thunderstorms.)

“Sa Kabisayaan ay inaasahan ang maulap na kalangitan na may kasamang pag-ulan dahil sa thunderstorm,” he added.

(In the Visayas, cloudy skies with rains due to thunderstorms are also expected.)

Aurelio said the “habagat” will continue to prevail in the coming days.

Pagasa likewise reported that no low-pressure area has formed in and around the Philippine area of responsibility.

Meanwhile, Pagasa did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboards.
