SORSOGON CITY, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) launched eGov PH Super App and eLGU system in a ceremony at a hotel in this city on Tuesday, June 18.

Local chief executives and representatives of local government units in Bicol welcomed the program, that would enable citizens to access various government services through a mobile application, by affixing their digital signatures to a commitment wall.

Heherson Asiddao, Undersecretary for Support Services at DICT, emphasized the need for full support from local government units to ensure the project’s success.

“The integration phase is the most challenging, where the systems of eGov PH will be put into place,” Asiddao stated in an interview at the event.

He highlighted that once eLGU becomes operational, it will greatly assist citizens in conducting transactions with government agencies online.

“Accessing government services is made efficient and cost-effective for clients, aligning with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to digitalize the country,” he emphasized.

DICT Bicol chief Rachel Ann Grabador told Inquirer that similar launching activities will take place in other provinces in the coming days to encourage Filipinos to use the eGov PH application.

“In terms of integration, LGUs will not incur costs as DICT will provide free technical assistance,” Grabador assured.
