Marcos signs law creating 2 schools in Bacoor

MANILA, Philippines — Bacoor City, Cavite is set to gain an elementary school and a senior high school after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Republic Act Nos. 12007 and 12008.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Palace said that Marcos approved the measure last June 13.

“Republic Act No. 12007 establishes the ‘Progressive Senior High School’ in Progressive Village 3, Brgy. Bayanan while RA No. 12008 creates the ‘Progressive Elementary School’ in Brgy. Molino 2,” stated the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Malacañang said that the two new schools will be under the supervision of the Department of Education (DepEd).

“Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte is ordered to immediately include in the department’s program the operationalization of the senior high and elementary schools,” said the PCO.

The Palace also said that Duterte must formulate the implementing rules and regulations of the new laws within 90 days from its signing.

Duterte will determine the school’s organization, administration, operations, and management.
