Suspect in slay of son of Cebu mayor nabbed in Bohol

CEBU CITY, Philippines—The suspect in the killing of Carl Vinson Apura, son of Mayor Nicepuro Apura of Carcar City in Cebu, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Catigbian, Bohol.

Police Regional Office  (PRO-7) director Chief Superintendent Marcelo Garbo identified the suspect as Jimboy Lauron, who was nabbed by police operatives in Barangay Union, Catigbian, Bohol.

The suspect would be brought from Bohol to Cebu City later Thursday, Garbo added.

No other details were available, except that Chief Inspector Teodulfo Manatad, Carcar City police chief, was the one who led his men in arresting Lauron in Bohol.

Carl Vinson, 25, a member of the Akhro fraternity, was shot in the head while attending a village dance party during a fiesta celebration at past 1 a.m. May13 in Barangay Valladolid, Carcar City.
