MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday said the national government is already exhausting all efforts to bring the Filipino seafarers on board the MV Tutor vessel to Djibouti and then back home.
The MV Tutor suffered serious damage after the missile and drone attacks by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday, June 12.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac earlier said that one of the 22 seafarers on board the ship is currently missing.
“Sa ating mga kasama na Filipino seafarers na nakasakay [sa] MV Tutor na binomba… ngayon ay hindi malaman ang gagawin [pero] lahat ng maaaring gawin ay ginagawa na namin,” said Marcos in a video message posted by the Presidential Communications Office.
(To our fellow Filipino seafarers who were aboard the MV Tutor that was bombed… now we don’t know what to do, but we are doing everything that can be done.)
Marcos said the government is already coordinating with the UK Maritime Trade Operations to find a way to bring the Filipino seafarers to Djibouti.
“Mula sa Djibouti, gumagawa rin kami ng mga arrangements para makapunta na kayo, makauwi na muna kayo,” said Marcos.
(From Djibouti, we are also making arrangements so that you can go back home.)
“Kaya’t patuloy ang aming paghanap ng tulong sa ating mga kaibigan para madala na kayo sa Djibouti,” he added.
(So we continue to seek help from our friends to bring you to Djibouti.)
