LEGAZPI CITY — Two persons died and six others were wounded in a collision Thursday between a passenger bus and a tanker truck in Milaor town in Camarines Sur.

Brigadier General Andre Perez Dizon, Bicol police chief, identified the fatalities as Reynaldo Gobres, 55, the driver of the tanker truck, and Mayflor Escano, 34, a bus passenger.

The initial investigation shows that the tanker truck suddenly encroached on the lane of the passenger bus, causing the head-on collision along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Flordeliz at 2:56 a.m.

Dizon said due to the impact, Gobres was thrown out of his vehicle and fell in the middle of the road. He died instantly.

Escano, a resident of Leyte, also died on the spot. The other passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigation is ongoing.
