Comelec: Count of new voters for 2025 polls continues to grow

SUBIC BAY, ZAMBALES— New voter registration for the 2025 midterm elections has surpassed 3.6 million as of June 13, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.

The listing started last February 12 and will run until September 30, but so far, 3,642,176 new Filipino voters nationwide already registered to participate in next year’s national and local polls.

Based on the latest Comelec data, Region 4A or Calabarzon has the highest number of new voter registrants at 632,493, followed by the National Capital Region or Metro Manila with 510,590; Region 3 or Central Luzon with 422,092; Region 7 or Central Visayas with 248,193; and Region 11 or Davao Region with 213, 030.

Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia said on May 21 that new voter registration has breached their target of 3 million.

He also previously said the deadline for new voter listing will no longer be extended because of time constraints since Comelec still has to make other preparations for the 2025 midterm elections.
