11 OFWs affected by Kuwait building blaze – DMW

Eleven overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were affected by fire that broke out in a heavily-populated residential building south of Kuwait City, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac confirmed on Thursday.

Citing a report from their office in Kuwait, Cacdac said three of the 11 Filipinos are safe and accounted for while another three are in hospital, including two who are under intensive care.

Pagcor: No licensed POGO hubs near military camps

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) on Thursday said it has not issued any  licenses to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (Pogo) sites operating next to military camps.

Pagcor Chairman Alejandro Tengco made the assurance as Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. urged the government to stop Pogo operations near military bases. 

Suspected chinese military medal, more gear found in Pampanga Pogo hub

An “outstanding service medal” for a Chinese military sergeant, along with more People’s Liberation Army (PLA) uniforms and boots, was discovered in the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) hub in Pampanga.

According to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) spokesperson Winston John Casio, the medal was found in one of the establishments’ buildings, while three more sets of PLA uniforms were discovered in various parts of the complex, bringing the total to six.
