Man stabbed dead in Manila

As people continue to arrive at the government’s “Bagong Pilipinas” kick-off rally, the estimated crowd within the Quirino Grandstand, Manila, has reached 400,000, according to police.

MANILA Philippines — A 25-year-old woman was arrested in Manila on Monday after reportedly stabbing her live-in partner to death during a heated argument.

Based on Manila Police District’s (MPD) Tuesday report, the suspect, identified as Rhaiza Alonzo, was apprehended by authorities shortly after the incident that occurred late Sunday evening at the victim’s home along Barangay 777, Zone 85 in Sta. Ana.

Police said Alonzo’s arrest stemmed from a report it received from a hospital in Sta. Ana about the victim identified as Cecilio Lopez.

No other details were provided on why the two had a heated confrontation.
