MANILA, Philippines — Over 11,000 personnel from various law enforcement agencies will be deployed nationwide for public safety as the country celebrates Independence Day on Wednesday, June 12, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP spokesperson Jean Fajardo said 11,692 law enforcers will be dispatched in areas where activities will be held.

“We will deploy 11,692 personnel nationwide,” Fajardo told reporters in a Viber message.
Aside from PNP, Fajardo added the personnel would come from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
In a press briefing held on Monday, the police official said the number of personnel may change depending on the report PNP will receive from its regional and provincial offices.
Earlier, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. invited the public to a series of programs, concerts and caravans hosted by the national government starting Monday (June 10).
Marcos said various attractions would be seen at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila and Burnham Green Park in Baguio City.
Cooking competition, race in an obstacle course, “labuyo” eating contest or chili festival and Bagong Pilipinas one-stop shop caravan were among the activities and programs he mentioned.
On June 12, the president also announced that Parada ng Bayan would take place, followed by a free concert featuring the P-pop girl group BINI.
