MANILA, Philippines—Overcast skies and possible rain showers are expected in most parts of the country on Monday due to the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” and easterlies, according to the state weather bureau.

In its early morning bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the “habagat” and cloud clusters formed due to easterlies may bring cloudy skies and rain showers over parts of Luzon and eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao,.

(The southwest monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies, particularly in Palawan. There is also a high chance of thunderstorms in the western parts of Luzon, particularly in the Ilocos region, Bataan, Zambales, Metro Manila and some parts of the Calabarzon and Mimaropa regions.)

(Cloudy skies and rain showers due to the easterlies are highly possible in the eastern parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.)

Meanwhile, the eastern part of Luzon is expected to have hot and humid weather.

Badrina added that Pagasa has not monitored any low-pressure area that may affect the country or enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days.

No gale warning is in effect over the country’s seaboards, Pagasa added.
