Man caught carrying over P1.2 million worth of shabu arrested in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — A 40-year-old man caught carrying over P1.2 million worth of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, was arrested in Taguig City on Saturday, according to police.

In a report on Sunday, the Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as alias “Otchok,” who was collared during a buy-bust operation along Barangay Wawa around 8:40 a.m.

Confiscated from him were eight plastic sachets containing narcotics worth P1,292,000.

Other pieces of evidence seized from him were buy-bust money, counterfeit money, and a weighing scale.

The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Taguig City police and will face complaints for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
