MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, is expected to bring scattered rain showers in western parts of Luzon, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Sunday, according to the state weather service.
In a morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) habagat and localized thunderstorms will mainly affect the country.

(Southwest monsoon will continue to bring scattered rain showers in Luzon’s western parts, especially here in Palawan.)
(Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.)
Castañeda also reported that Pagasa has not monitored any weather disturbance that may affect the country in the following days.
She further said no gale warning was raised on the country’s seaboards.
