MANILA, Philippines – Some flights were canceled on Saturday due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Manila International Airport Authority said.

Below is the list of canceled flights as of 4:30 p.m. on June 8:

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) advised that the southwest monsoon, or habagat, is expected to cause rain over the western portions of Luzon and Visayas.

Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil noted in a report the presence of thick cloud formation in the western sections of Luzon and Visayas as an effect of the southwest monsoon, as well as the high possibility of sustained cloudy and rainy conditions throughout the day.
