Phase 1 of LRT 1 Cavite Extension is 98.2% completed
MANILA, Philippines — The construction of Cavite Extension Phase 1 of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 is already 98.2 percent complete as of April, according to a statement issued by the Light Rail Manila Corp. on Friday.
The Cavite Extension Phase 1 will add 6.2 km to the existing LRT 1 line, from Baclaran Station in Pasay City to Dr. Santos Station in Parañaque City.

With the first phase nearing completion, all five new stations under the Parañaque extension currently have a progress rate of above 90 percent, as follows:
- Redemptorist Station: 97.4%
- MIA Station: 97.2%
- Asia World Station: 90.4%
- Ninoy Aquino Station: 93.5%
- Dr. Santos Station: 97.7%
“The nearing completion of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 is a testament to the government and private sector’s commitment to improving public transportation in the country,” LRMC General Manager Enrico Benipayo said in a statement.

Article continues after this advertisementThe LRMC said all five stations will be under 24/7 CCTV monitoring and are equipped with two elevators per station, as well as escalators for both northbound and southbound passengers.
Tactile paving will also be installed in each station for visually impaired passengers, along with common areas and restrooms for passengers.
All new stations will also have real-time passenger information systems showing arrival and departure times.
Each station will also have designated breastfeeding rooms and commercial spaces available for lease.
After completing the first phase, LRMC will proceed with the second phase, consisting of Las Piñas Station and Zapote Station, and then the third and last phase, the Niog Station.
