MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to many parts of the country on Friday, according to the state weather bureau.
“Kasalukuyan po itong habagat, o southwest monsoon, ay patuloy pa ring magbibigay ng maulap na kalangitan na may mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm sa may Ilocos region, ganun din po sa may Cordillera, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, kasama na rin po ang Metro Manila, Calabarzon, at Mimaropa,” said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.

The same weather is forecast in Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Pagasa likewise reported that no weather disturbance is expected to form in and around the Philippine area of responsibility until the weekend.
