MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rains are expected in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon on Thursday afternoon, according to the state weather bureau.
At 1:58 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a thunderstorm advisory in the metropolis, along with Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Bataan.
“Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bataan and Metro Manila within the next 2 hours,” Pagasa said in its advisory.
Pagasa officially declared the start of the rainy season last May 29.
