49 squads to see action in Cebu Interclub Football

A TOTAL of 49 teams including three out-of-towners will be seeing action in the 12th Cebu Interclub Football Cup which will kickoff this Saturday until May 27 in three venues in Cebu City and Mandaue City.

The tournament organized by the Cebu Amateur Football Club (CAFC) will officially open on Sunday at the University of San Carlos Technological Center (USC-TC), however, matches will already be played on Saturday.

Tournament head Frederick “Ktec” Alazas said that a simple opening ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. prior to the match between Queen City United and San Roque Football Club.

Alazas said that the presence of all participating teams is not required during the opening ceremony.

FEATURED STORIES

Matches in players 10 and boys 12 will be played at the football field of Paref Springdale while the boys 14, bracket B of boys 17 and some matches of the 40 Above will be played at the San Roque football field.

Matches in boys 17 bracket A, men’s open and the rest of the games of the 40 Above will be held at the USC-TC while the championship matches of the boys 17, men’s open and 40 Above will be contested also at the USC-TC.

A whooping P100,000 awaits the champion team of the men’s open while P20,000 goes to the champion team of the 40 Above.

Freebies will go to the winners in the age-group categories.
