MANILA, Philippines—Two minors armed with a pellet gun and kitchen knife were arrested for allegedly robbing a 19-year-old who was walking near a gasoline station in Las Piñas early Thursday morning.

The Southern Police District’s (SPD) report identified the two 16-year-old suspects by their aliases “Gielyn” and “Nico.” Las Piñas police operatives collared them during a follow-up operation along the C5 Road Extension in Pulanglupa Uno around 5:30 a.m.

Police said the two were accompanied by another suspect, “Rusty,” who remains at large. The three were reportedly onboard a motorcycle without a license plate when they blocked the path of the 19-year-old victim, “Nikkos,” along Barangay Manuyo Dos around 2:30 a.m.

One of the suspects, with a pellet gun, approached the victim and took his phone and wallet before all three fled the area.

SPD disclosed that Nikkos immediately sought the help of Zapote Sub-Station operatives, which led to the arrest of the two minors.

Recovered from the suspects were a pellet gun, a 13-inch kitchen knife, the motorcycle used to commit the crime, and the victim’s phone.

The arrested individuals are facing multiple charges for violating Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code (robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons), Section 35 of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and Batas Pambansa Blg. 6 (illegal possession of bladed, pointed, or blunt weapons).

SPD said Las Piñas police are still tracking down the remaining suspect, while the two arrested minors will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Bahay Pag-Asa.
