Housing dep’t welcomes P10-B pledge
MANILA, Philippines—Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development welcomed the pledge of Speaker Martin Romualdez to support the government’s national housing program known as “Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino or 4PH”.
The Speaker has allocated P10 billion for the program’s interest payments.

During an inspection on Tuesday of a 4PH project in San Mateo, Rizal, Romualdez announced that he and House appropriations committee chair Rep. Elizaldy Co have agreed to allocate the P10 billion next year.
Acuzar said he hopes bills pending in Congress to institutionalize 4PH through legislation will be passed, especially in funding interest subsidies for beneficiaries.

The project aims to construct 4,000 condominium-type housing units, reflecting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision to provide decent housing and dignity to Filipino families in peaceful, safe communities. —Russel Loreto
