MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Nueva Ecija and Bataan on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 1:34 p.m., it said that the unfavorable weather conditions will likely be experienced “within the next 2 hours.”

Meanwhile, Pagasa said that intense to torrential rain showers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Metro Manila and the following nearby provinces:

  • Rizal
  • Zambales
  • Bulacan (San Jose del Monte, Marilao, Meycauayan, Obando, Santa Maria, Bocaue, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, Bulakan)
  • Quezon (Mulanay, Catanauan, General Luna, Buenavista, Lopez, Lucena, Tayabas, Lucban, San Narciso)
  • Batangas (Tanauan, Malvar, Santo Tomas, Lipa, Balete, Mataasnakahoy)
  • Laguna (Calauan, Bay, Los Banos, Calamba, Victoria, Pila, Nagcarlan, Alaminos, San Pablo, Rizal, Binan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao, Magdalena, Santa Cruz, Liliw, Pagsanjan, Lumban)
  • Pampanga (Mabalacat, Porac, Angeles, Bacolor, San Fernando)
  • Tarlac (San Jose, Capas, Bamban)
  • Cavite (Silang, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Carmona)

Pagasa said it may persist for two hours and affect surrounding areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory read.
