The Manila police arrested on Tuesday the city’s most wanted rape suspect in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila. The Manila Police District said that Angelo Tapaya Ricarro, 21, was taken into custody based on a warrant issued by presiding Judge Delight Aissa Salvador of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 29. Ricarro, a fire volunteer, is accused of violating Republic Act No. 11648 ,or the Anti-Rape Law. In a phone interview, Police Cpl. Emmanuel Estaris, who served the warrant on the suspect, told the Inquirer that Ricarro was tagged as the most wanted rape suspect despite facing only one charge since the alleged victim was a minor.—RUSSEL LORETO
