MANILA, Philippines — Talks are still happening to determine whether or not Robin Padilla will become the next party president of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP).

Senator Robin Padilla disclosed the matter, himself, in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

“Alam nyo, napakasarap pag usapan e no, kapag ganun?

(You know what, it feels good to talk about it, right? But if you ask me — this position that they are offering is good.)

(Thank you for the trust. Thank you to former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and to everyone in PDP. But of course, we are still in the middle of our discussions now.)

According to the senator, he still wants to know what other PDP members want him to do should he be elected as the next party leader.

Padilla, however, repeatedly clarified that he did not ask to be elected into such a post.

Amid all these speculations, is the senator leaning towards accepting such a post?

(Even being a senator, I did not ask for this.)

(The opportunity only came right in front of me and if I can see that I can do good things and I can help my fellow Filipinos, then I will accept.)

(But of course, it doesn’t mean that I will not implement new policies. If I accept this, I will implement new policies in PDP.)
