MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Northern and Southern Luzon on Tuesday due to a frontal system, according to the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) explained that a frontal system forms when warm and cool air meet.

“Mostly areas po ng Northern Luzon ay makakaranas ng maulan na panahon, so asahan po natin ang kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkidlat, at pagkulog,” Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres said.

(Most areas of Northern Luzon may experience rainy weather, so expect scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.)

Torres likewise said that the axis of the frontal system is expected to go down, which may bring rain to Southern Luzon.

Pagasa added that no weather disturbance was detected in or around the Philippine area of responsibility.
