Death toll in Quezon road crash rises to 4
LUCENA CITY — The fatalities in the tragic road accident on Sunday in Tiaong, Quezon rose to four with the death of another victim during treatment, police said Monday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Camposo, Tiaong police chief, identified the fourth fatality as Eric Atienza, who died while undergoing treatment at Quezon Medical Center in this city several hours after the accident.
A police report said the van driven by Emgee Compuesto overtook at around 3:30 a.m. a Mitsubishi Xpander at the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Talisay.
The van side hit the left side of the Xpander and collided with an approaching Manila-bound Bicol Isarog bus.
Three van passengers died on the spot, Camposo said. Rescuers rushed the injured driver and seven other passengers to QMC.

He said the driver faces criminal charges for the death of his four passengers, the wounding of six others, and damage to properties.
The victims, who were going to Masbate City for a family event, rented the van, according to Camposo. INQ
