MANILA, Philippines — Eight detainees escaped from the jail facility of San Jose del Monte Police Station in Bulacan on Sunday morning, according to police.
San Jose del Monte City police told INQUIRER.net on Monday that the eight broke out of the facility around 3 a.m.

“Mga alas tres po ng umaga nangyari. Bale nagising ‘yong isang detainee at in-alerto yung duty officer na nakatakas na yung walo,” Master Sergeant Rod Pating, lead investigator, said over the phone.
(It happened around three in the morning. One of the detainees woke up and alerted the duty officer that the eight had already escaped.)
“Upon investigation, nakita na sa bintana ng CR sila tumakas at ni-lagare yung mga bakal doon,” he added.
(Upon investigation, we discovered they fled through the restroom window and saw off the grills.)
Pating said police operatives have so far rearrested four detainees found in various parts of San Jose del Monte City.
“Four na ang nahuli lahat kahapon (Sunday), sa mga kamag anak lang din o kakilala nila pumunta, yung iba umuwi sa kanila,” he added.
(Four escapees were all caught yesterday (Sunday). They either went to their relatives or acquaintances, while others went home.)
As for the remaining four, the police officer said they are still tracking them down.
