Col. Jean Fajardo, the spokesperson for the PNP, said that PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil had ordered the reassignment of 600 police personnel performing administrative tasks at Camp Crame to patrol the roads to improve police response.
Those deployed would use motorcycles to patrol Metro Manila roads, Fajardo said. Last month, an official from the Land Transportation Office was killed by a motorcycle-riding gunman in Quezon City.
