Rainy weather to prevail in extreme northern Luzon on Sunday evening

MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and rainy weather will prevail in extreme northern parts of Luzon, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Sunday evening, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In an afternoon forecast, Pagasa said easterlies will affect the eastern part of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while the frontal system will prevail over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

“Dito sa Batanes at Babuyan islands asahan ang maulap na papawirin at may kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkidlat at pagkilog dahil sa frontal system,” Weather specialist Veronica Torres explained.

“Para naman sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng bansa asahan natin yung partly cloudy to cloudy skies na may tiyansa ng localized thunderstorms. Posible pa rin maging mainit at maalinsangan ang panahon,” she added.

(In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail with chances of localized thunderstorms and hot and humid weather.)

She also said no gale warning was raised on the country’s seaboards.
