President Marcos has extended Claire Dennis Mapa’s term as National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) by another five years. At the same time, the President also designated lawyer Marlo Ignacio Quadra as President and Chief Executive Officer of John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC). The Presidential Communications Office announced the two appointments in a post on its Facebook page on Thursday. Mapa, 54, was first appointed to lead the PSA with the rank of undersecretary on May 27, 2019, by then President Rodrigo Duterte. His first five-year term expired earlier this week. On the other hand, Quadra was named by the President as a member of the JHMC board of directors in October 2023. —JULIE M. AURELIO
