MANILA CITY, Philippines — “He is okay,” Department of Justice (DOJ) Spokesperson Jose Dominic Clavano IV said when asked about Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla’s health.
Remulla last appeared in public in March when he announced that the DOJ would be filing qualified human trafficking and sexual and child abuse cases against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
In an interview Thursday, Clavano said Remulla is working from home.
“Most of the time, we can visit him in his home where he has a home office,” Clavano said, adding that Remulla is still recovering from his major heart bypass operation last year.

“The doctors advised him to take it slow because hindi biro ‘yung lima na bypass na arteries ni Secretary (it’s no joke that the secretary had five bypassed arteries)… His immune system is still low because of the medicines. But right now, he is active,” he said.
Clavano said Remulla is giving daily instructions to his undersecretaries and assistant secretaries.
“For everyone’s information, the secretary is well and is hoping to come back to work as soon as possible,” he said.
