MANILA, Philippines — A cyclist died after being hit and run over by a truck on Roxas Boulevard in Manila on Tuesday.
The Manila Police District reported that cyclist Dominico Anocop Sr., 47, and a the truck with license plate number REA 252 were making a right turn from the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard onto the eastbound lane of Padre Burgos in Ermita around 12:15 p.m.
Police said the right side of the victim’s bicycle was struck by the left side rear wheel portion of the truck driven by Aristeo Pablo, 36,
“Unfortunately, V1 [vehicle 1] cyclist was hit/ ran over by the left side rear wheel portion of V2 (Aluminum High Side),” the police report stated.
The cyclist sustained severe, fatal injuries.
Police said the Anocop’s body was brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy and safekeeping.
The truck driver is under police custody.
