Cloudy Tuesday with rain showers expected – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines —  Three weather systems were forecast to bring overcast skies and rains nationwide on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its 4 p.m. advisory, the state weather bureau said that southwesterly wind flow would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms are expected over the Ilocos region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, and Apayao are forecast to experience the same weather conditions due to the frontal system.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have slightly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains in low-lying areas.

 Typhoon Aghon update

Pagasa said that Typhoon Aghon (international name: Ewiniar) was spotted some 520 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, as of 3 p.m.

Aghon is packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gustiness of up to 160 kph, and moving northeast at 30 kph.

All Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals have been lifted.
