MANILA, Philippines — The Laguindingan International Airport in Misamis Oriental will suspend its operations on Tuesday afternoon to give way for emergency drills, said the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

According to the CAAP in an advisory, the airport will suspend its operations from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to facilitate an aircraft emergency full-scale exercise.

CAAP said a notice to airmen (Notam) informing airlines of the suspension was already released in early May, allowing the airport to minimize affected flights to only two.

“Due to the early issuance of the Notam, airlines were promptly notified, allowing them ample time to adjust their flight schedules,” said CAAP.

“With this advanced notice, only two flights will be affected during this period,” it added.
