MANILA, Philippines — Electricity supply will soon return in areas affected by Typhoon Aghon (international name, Ewiniar), Malacañang said Monday.
According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the Department of Energy gave assurance that power distributors were working to fix the problem and restore electricity to affected localities.
Based on a situational report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, 52 areas were left without electricity as Aghon lashed parts of Luzon and Visayas over the weekend.

The same statement released by the PCO on Monday quoted Energy Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella as saying in mixed English and Filipino during a press briefing: “The Task Force on Energy Resiliency has also been monitoring the efforts of the plants that have returned. So the lines need to be synchronized.”
Aghon has affected the eastern portion of the country, which includes Quezon, Aurora, and Rizal, among others.
