MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said Tropical Depression Aghon slightly weakened as it crossed Ticao Island and Masbate City.
Metro Manila is also now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1, based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) 2 p.m. bulletin on Saturday.

According to Pagasa, the center of Aghon was estimated, based on all available data, over the coastal waters of Sibuyan Island.
It had a slightly lower maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Pagasa said that Aghon’s current movement is west-northwestward at a speed of 30 kph.
