MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck waters off Balut Island in the Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, on Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The tectonic quake occurred at 10:20 a.m., some 371 kilometers (km) southeast of the island, it added. It has a depth of focus of 53 km.

No instrumental or recorded intensity was logged as of posting, according to the state seismologist.

It also said no aftershocks or damage to property are expected from this earthquake.
