Aquino lauds Ombudsman

President Benigno Aquino lauded Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales for her competence and for supposedly being true to her constitutional mandate in going after grafters in the government.
“She’s exhibiting her competence and she’s doing her job,” he said in an interview with Bombo Radyo in Malacañang.
The President was asked to comment on people involved in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
On Corona, who is expected to appear next Tuesday: “I hope he tells the truth.”
On Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile: “From what we’re seeing, he really appears to be quite fair.”
On Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago: “We see a lot when she speaks.” Norman Bordadora
