MANILA, Philippines — Rosario Tago de Villa, the mother of Philippine Daily Inquirer reporter Kathleen de Villa-Nisay, joined her Creator on May 18 after more than a year of courageously fighting lung cancer. She was 62.
Known as “Baby” to her family and friends, De Villa’s hope and faith in the Lord never wavered even while she was confined for two weeks in the hospital before her passing.
Baby was well-loved by her colleagues at the now-defunct Prudential Bank, where she served as a supervisor, handling stock market deals and money market investments in the 1990s.
A devoted and loving mother and wife, she is survived by her husband Renato Jr., children Francis and Kathleen, son-in-law Jose Antonio Nisay, and brother Boni Tago.
Her wake is at the Holy Trinity Memorial Chapels and Crematorium in Parañaque City. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on May 24 at Holy Trinity before her cremation on the same day at 2 p.m.
