MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested in Pasay City for allegedly kidnapping a 30-year-old Chinese in a casino over the weekend, police said on Wednesday.

It opted not to name the victim, who was reportedly abducted by his captors inside the casino on the morning of May 19.

Based on AKG’s report, the kidnappers brought and locked the foreigner up in a room and demanded ransom for his release.
Shortly after, police said the victim’s friend reported the kidnapping to the Southern Police District (SPD), which was immediately referred to the AKG.
By evening, SPD and AKG operatives launched a joint operation that resulted in the rescue of the Chinese and the apprehension of the suspects.
The two are now temporarily detained at the PNP-AKG Detention Facility pending the filing of kidnapping for ransom cases against them.
