Cebu hotels, resorts, restos to hold ‘Taste of Cebu’ foodfest
TOURISTS and Cebuanos will have a chance to experience the best culinary specialties in Cebu in a two-day food exhibit.
Dubbed “A Taste of Cebu,” 14 food booths from hotels, resorts and restaurants in Cebu will showcase a variety of dishes at the Terraces of the Ayala Center Cebu on May 19 to 20.
“This is a chance to experience the best of Cebu has to offer,” said Bruce Winton, director of the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu Inc. (HRRAC) on Friday.
Winton said the event is one way of strengthening and promoting the tourism industry in Cebu.
Winton said they are expecting a number of tourists to flock the Terraces and participate the first “A Taste of Cebu.”
“This (dishes) is something you will find in Cebu,” said Jimmy Martinez, Food and Beverage Manager of the Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.
Article continues after this advertisementMartinez said they will be offering adobo, barbecue and Asian fusion dishes among others.

The event will also showcase activities like cookie decorating, pizza making for children, bartending competition and fruit carving among others.
Winton said a portion of the proceeds of the event will be donated to Children’s Hour, a charitable institution.
Cebuano bands, singers and dancers will also perform in the two-day event.
HRRAC is an organization of about 100 Cebu hotels, resorts and restaurants promoting professionalism in the hospitality industry.
Winton said the event will also raise awareness to non-members, business and industries of what HRACC can do to the public and the community.
