Convergys, SSI Pure Science remain unbeaten

THE MULTI-TITLED Convergys Wolves and SSI Pure Science posted separate wins to remain unbeaten in the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

The Wolves went through some anxious moments before escaping the Aegis Vipers, 70-65, while SSI handily defeated the SupportSave Jaguars, 82-62.

Ellison Rivera led Convergys with 14 points, six steals and two assists, Ibhar Je del Mar contributed 11 markers.

Clifford Amarado tallied 17 points, five steals and two assists, while Ryan Veloso finished with 16 for Aegis who rallied in the closing minutes behind a 21-7 run but fell short in the end en route to tasting its first loss after three games.

FEATURED STORIES

Dennis Noel Poquita, on the other hand, paced Aegis with 19 points, while Rhett Romeo Tomakin and John Denver Rivera added a combined 32 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and three blocks.

Janille Kristianne Bantilan and Fritz Vincent Blanes scored 13 points each to lead SupportSave, which dropped to 1-1 (win-loss).

In the other game, the Sykes Pioneers tallied win number three in three starts via a 74-64 spanking of the Odusee Rooz.
