All is set for Parklane International Hotel’s “Hunat Sugbo Dos: Dagan Para ni Maning” slated this June 24 at Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.
The running event, which will feature a 21-kilometer category, pays tribute to the Parklane’s president Manuel Ting, who was murdered in 2010.
“We want to remember sir Manuel that’s why we created Hunat Sugbo. He was an avid runner and walkathoner,” said Parklane International Hotel general manager Cenelyn Manguilimotan during yesterday’s launching at the hotel’s Muze Bar.
Joining her at the launching were Ting’s son Basil, who is the board director and chairman of Parklane, Parklane’s security manager Nick Nacorda, marketing communications officer Barbie Patiño, President of Walk and Talk Organization Atty. Alex Monteclar and race director Joel Baring.
The running event aims to generate funds for the hotel’s annual medical mission. This year’s mission will be on July.
Aside from the 21k race, there will also be 3k, 6k and 12k distances.
Around P50,000 worth of cash prizes will be given to the winners in each category.
Meanwhile, Baring said he will not ban foreign runners, particularly the Kenyans, from joining the race.
Registration can be done at the RUNNR Ayala Center Cebu and at the Parklane International Hotel.
