4 drug suspects yield P667,000 ‘shabu’ in Quezon bust

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested four alleged drug pushers early Sunday, May 19, and seized more than P667,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Tiaong town in Quezon province.

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, reported that anti-illegal drug operatives nabbed at 2:20 a.m. “Aldrin”, 37; “Jizelle”, 35; “Dennis”, 39; and “Christian”, 42, after they sold shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Poblacion 3.

The police found the suspects, all identified street pushers on the drug watch list, in alleged possession of six plastic sachets of meth weighing 32.70 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P222,360.

The confiscated shabu is worth P667,080 in the street market based on the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, the report said.

The lawmen also recovered drug-sniffing paraphernalia from the suspects.

The police are conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

The suspects were detained and are facing complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
