30,000 beneficiaries receive P286-M aid in CDO BPSF
MANILA, Philippines — House of Representatives Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Friday said a total of P286 million worth of assistance and government services and programs were delivered to beneficiaries during the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Cagayan de Oro City.
Romualdez, in a statement, said that around 30,000 beneficiaries received assistance during the two-day BPSF in Cagayan de Oro city from May 16 to 17.
The BPSF, Romualdez said, is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision of bringing services closer to the people.
“Isa na namang matagumpay na BPSF ang ating naisagawa sa CDO itong nakaraang dalawang araw. Target po natin ang mga lalawigan sa Mindanao, kaya isusunod na natin ang Tawi-Tawi at Davao del Norte matapos tayong manggaling sa Zamboanga City nitong nakaraan,” Romualdez said.
(Another successful BPSF was conducted here in CDO for the past two days. We are targeting to visit more provinces in Mindanao, Tawi-Tawi and Davao del Norte will be next, after coming from Zamboanga City just this past week.)
“Ito po ang hangarin ng ating mahal na Pangulong Marcos Jr., ang direktang benepisyo sa ating mga mamamayan. Ang gobyerno na po ang pupunta sa inyo, hatid ang daan-daang programa at mga programa sa ayuda para siguruhing lahat ng mamamayan ay kasama natin sa pag-unlad,” he added.

Of the P286 million poured into this BPSF, P180 million was said to be in the form of cash assistance, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, which benefitted some 26,000 individual beneficiaries.
A total of 200,000 kilograms of rice were also distributed by Romualdez to BPSF beneficiaries.
Aside from this, other programs such as the Start-up, Incentives, Business Opportunity and Livelihood (SIBOL) and the Integrated Scholarship and Incentives for the Youth (ISIP for the Youth) were launched.
The SIBOL Program aims to help start-up businesses by providing individuals with sustainable opportunities that contribute to economic empowerment and resilience.
ISIP for the Youth meanwhile seeks to assist deserving students facing financial challenges, so that they can continue with their education.
