MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday encouraged Filipinos to use social media to promote the tourism industry.

During the distribution of aid to El Niño-hit communities in Region X, Marcos said that social media can be used to promote the local products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Tapos, i-post ninyo sa social media,” Marcos said in his speech in Iligan City.

(Here in Iligan, I know that the famous products are toasted peanuts and palapa. So if you have any there, take a photo of them. Take a selfie with the products and post it on social media.)

(It is a simple thing, but it is a big help to boost the products so that these items will be well known and will become your source of pride, especially now that social media is prevalent among many of us.)

According to the Palace, Marcos distributed assistance worth more than P168 million across different areas in Northern Mindanao that were affected by the El Niño phenomenon.
