MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds may be expected in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 2:18 p.m., the state weather agency said unfavorable weather conditions may be experienced in Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bataan, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon “within the next 2 hours.”

Pagasa also said that moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds may affect portions of Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, San Marcelino, Botolan), Cavite (Trece Martires, Tanza, Naic, General Trias), Bulacan (Pulilan, Calumpit), and Pampanga (Apalit) “which may persist within two hours and may affect nearby areas.”
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” it added.
